Dip of Procurement and Contracting – Procurement Stream – Activity 1 – Business Case/Defining Procurement Need

Your manager has asked you to prepare a first draft of a business case for the Security Guarding requirement (Activity 1 Handout). This needs to be completed and approved before any further procurement activity can occur.

For the activity you are required to bullet point content ideas for your business case. As a minimum you should include some ideas for each of the following headings:

• Expected outcomes
• Alignment to organisational objectives, goals and policies
• Information sources for the business case
• Options for meeting the requirement
• Key milestones and/or approval points
• Who will review and approve the business case
